Management commentary
In April, government bond yields fell across major economies, driven by geopolitical turmoil, with notable yield curve steepening in the US and Japan. Eurozone yields dropped sharply as Bunds served as a safe haven amid chaotic US tariff policies. Global credit spreads widened but partly reversed, ending somewhat wider. The Fed flagged uncertainty, fueling rate cut expectations, and the ECB cut rates. The fund's absolute performance was positive, driven by lower yields. The relative fund performance was negative due to a long duration in USD at longer maturities and negative spread returns, partly offset by AUD exposure.
