Strategy
The sub-fund invests in international bonds using a « break even » strategy. It mainly consists in buying inflation linked bonds rated Investment Grade and hedging against interest rate risk. Alternatively the fund might invest in inflation swaps. The break-even exposure of the portfolio is actively managed.
Management commentary
In April, geopolitical uncertainty and US trade policy pressured global bond markets, with mixed yield movements across regions. US Treasury yields showed diverging trends, with eurozone and UK yields falling, and Japan witnessing curve steepening. Inflation moderated globally, while central banks across major economies adopted dovish stances amid stagflationary risks and growth concerns. The fund's absolute performance was positive, driven by break-even moves in USD and EUR and skewed positioning favouring Europe due to fiscal stimulus boosting inflation sentiment.
