Strategy
The SICAV is a euro money market SICAV whose objective is to outperform the capitalized Ester Index. The fund invests in fixed or floating rate issues. The bonds selection is supported by a rigorous credit risk analysis, liquidity and portfolio diversification. The weighted average maturity (WAM) of securities is below or equal to 6 months.
Management commentary
In April, markets were characterised by high volatility, mainly due to US trade policy. As a result, the Central Bank’s timing for future rate cuts has become more uncertain. Supported by macroeconomic data and inflation figures in line with expectations, the ECB nevertheless cut its interest rate again by 25 bps by taking the deposit rate to 2.25%. The €STER 1-year swap fell by 32 bp to 1.69%. The 3-month Euribor retracted by 18 bps and ended at 2.16%.
